Mr.
H.L. Bajaj, Technical Member, before joining the Appellate Tribunal for
Electricity in May, 2005 has been
Chairman, Central Electricity Authority and ex-officio Secretary to the
Government of India, Ministry of Power since July 2002. He
was ex officio Member of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and Chairman Central Electricity
Board .He brought about structural changes required within CEA and initiated
action for its technological and qualitative up gradation. He devised schemes
for massive Hydro and Thermal Power development and evolved nationwide
consensus for adoption of 800-1000 MW super critical technology units in
India.
Mr. Bajaj has been on the Boards of
NTPC, Nuclear Power, Power Trading and Pragati Power Corporations.Mr.

He
served NTPC for 15 years and was responsible for various facets of Super
Thermal Power Projects and Operating Stations and played a key role in
promoting power sector reforms.
During his14 years stint with BHEL,
he led engineering teams for turnkey generation, transmission and
distribution projects in India and abroad. In Haryana State Electricity Board he was instrumental in
accelerating electrification by adopting innovative construction and
management techniques which resulted in 100% rural electrification of
Haryana the first state to achieve such distinction in 1970.
Mr. Bajaj is recipient of various National and International Awards. He
